Hunter, born in Montreal, Quebec, was selected 36th overall by the Rimouski Oceanic in the 2nd round of the 2014 QMJHL Entry Draft and is looking to make a splash in the 2014-2015 QMJHL season.
Hunter started his hockey career with many distinctive accolades, including being named as a member of the “World Selects Invitational” hockey team in both Riga, Latvia and once again in Portland, Maine and chosen for the “All-Star” teams in both. He continued to make a name for himself throughout the hockey community. During this time, he was also named to the U-14, U-15, and U-16 Quebec teams, where he lead the tournament in points on the U-15 team.
In 2013, Hunter was named as a member of the “Canadian Allstate” team in Toronto, Canada. Then, in 2014, he participated in the QMJHL Combine and was invited to the U-17 Team Canada tryouts in Calgary, Alberta. In that same year, Hunter finished his season in Midget Espoir and was named the league’s “Most Promising Player.” We have no doubt that Hunter will live up to that title!
After scoring 3 points in 29 games, Hunter was sent back down to his Midget AAA team, where he scored 9 points in 10 games. Fortunately, he is back with Rimouski this season and looking to make an impact offensively. Hunter is off to a hot start with 3 goals and 4 points in his first 6 games.Height: 5'8"
