Hockey player representation

Represented by CEM.

CEM Hockey starts with the player and the family, years before the first contract. At the table, we push the club on the number, the term, and the clause that matters in three years. You keep every relationship in the building and walk back into the room the next morning.

What we do.

01

Recruiting & development

We scout players early, get to know them and their families, and guide the junior years: the QMJHL draft, the NCAA route, school, and when to make the next move. Kyle Hardy runs recruitment, and Chad stays close to every file from the first call.

02

Draft preparation

Combine testing, team interviews, and a straight read on where you sit. If a club tells your family one thing and tells us another, you hear it from us first.

03

Contract negotiation

Entry level deals, extensions, qualifying offers, arbitration, negotiated by an NHLPA certified agent. Every number we put on the table rests on comparables: players at your position, your age, your production, and what they signed for. You see them before we file.

04

Marketing & endorsements

Equipment, sponsorship and appearance deals that align with your interests, your contract and the name you are building. When you make news, we promote it across CEM’s social channels.

05

Financial & career management

Financial planning, asset management and cross-border accounting through the banking and accounting partners we trust, for players paid in one country and taxed in another. And the career calls: timing a move, protecting leverage, and knowing when staying with your current team is in your best interest, even when it is not the answer you wanted.

How it runs

The CEM
four stages.

  1. 01

    Evaluate

Before you sign anything, we get to know you and your family, watch your games, read the video, and talk to the people who coached you. Then we tell you what your market is. If we cannot move it, we say so.

  2. 02

    Plan

One page: where you are, where the next room is, and the three things in between. We review it every year, and again after a trade, an injury or a coaching change.

  3. 03

    Sign

Calls, not emails. We take the plan to the rooms that fit it and do the negotiating. You hear who we spoke to and what they said, including the ones who said no.

  4. 04

    Advocate

The part that lasts. We file on time, hold your leverage, and pick up the phone the day something goes wrong, not the week after.

What your first year
after you sign looks like.

Week one

Your file: the agreement, your comparables, a corrected Elite Prospects page, and Chad’s direct number.

Preseason

The plan, on one page, agreed with you rather than sent to you.

During it

Your representation does not stop when the season starts. We call when something changes: a line change, a scratch, a trade rumour, an opportunity.

Postseason

The market opens. You know what we are doing and why before we do it.
